Taking A Break From The Game

Over the last few weeks I have been finding myself increasingly demotivated about Poker and not enjoying the game as much as before.

I guess the 70 hour weeks of playing and studying have finally caught up with me so I'm going to take a break from the game until I regain this freshness and drive for success. I also feel my life has no balance and I need to sort that out. I figure the warning bells started ringing when I took my laptop on holiday and packed a second monitor in my suitcase so I could multitable...

I'm going to honour my planned coaching committments this week and then take a total break from the game until I want to come back into it. I guess this could take anything from a few weeks to months but until I take the break I guess I wont know.

If anyone emails me and I dont reply quickly, hopefully this will explain why. I probably wont be that near my PC very often for a while either. I think I need a break from that too.

Good luck at the tables everyone, I'll be back in a while.

  • Don't blame you if it's getting a bit stale.

    I took a couple of days off after a series of rotten runs where anything good I got was beaten by other players' lucky draws...

    My current rest from poker is enforced - computer went belly-up over a week ago and I'm suffering from withdrawal now. Just waiting for Dell to get their act together and get that replacement to me damned soon!

    yer i really enjoyed your CR vids - nice to hear an english voice once in a while. Was really interested by your talk of fruit-machine cracking. I have never played a fruit machine before but i have a couple of mates who love them and believe that they are +ev playing them. Until i heard what you said i thought they were talking bollucks - but this got me thinking.   • Hey, I'm really interested to know how you can 'win' at playing fruit machines? Have you ever written anything about your technique or got any pointers on where to read about it? I've recently quit work to go pro at poker so I have to look for any gambling edge I can find - hope you'll understand :D

  • I think any game you play excessively will eventually drive you crazy. I took a break from poker when I started to see people as diamonds and clubs. ;-)
